Fortitude over 40
Simple, practical fitness for a stronger, more capable life.
Service Description
# Fortitude Over 40 Simple. Practical. Real-World Fitness. Disclaimer: This class is a general fitness and wellness program and is not physical therapy or individualized medical care. Participation does not establish a physical therapist-patient relationship. Individuals with acute injuries, recent surgery, severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, significant medical conditions, or substantial limitations in daily activities should seek appropriate medical guidance before participating. Fitness after 40 doesn't need to mean spending hours in the gym, chasing arbitrary numbers, or leaving every workout exhausted and drenched in sweat. Fortitude Over 40 takes a simpler approach: build the strength, mobility, and confidence you need for the things you actually want to do. This full-body class combines practical strength and movement training with education. Rather than simply telling you what exercise to do next, we'll discuss why we're doing it, what it develops, and how it relates to everyday life. Topics and training may include: • Building useful, functional strength • Improving mobility without endless stretching • Squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling, reaching, and carrying • Getting up and down from the floor comfortably • Developing balance, coordination, and movement confidence • Using breathing to improve movement and manage effort • Modifying movements rather than forcing "perfect" technique • Creating effective workouts without making fitness a second job • Preparing your body for the demands of work, home, recreation, travel, and family life The goal isn't to see who can do the most repetitions, lift the most weight, or survive the hardest workout. It's to develop a body that is strong, adaptable, and capable of doing the things that matter to you. Whether you want to keep hiking, skiing, gardening, traveling, playing with your kids or grandkids, working comfortably, or simply handling everyday life with greater ease, Fortitude Over 40 is about training for your life—not training for the gym.
